Title: Seven/Chakotay

Rajiin - December 18, 2007 04:31 PM (GMT)
I gotta get this one off my chest. This whole Seven/Chakotay thing just didn't make sense. Chakotay obviously was into Janeway. When they were on that planet together, he had those big goo goo eyes and couldn't wait until she relented. Then he goes back to the ship, pays no attention to Seven and then ends up with her at the end???

Someone help me here.

Makes no sense to me either. I thought the pairing was :puke:. It was the doctor that really loved her.

Trekwolf164 - December 18, 2007 04:47 PM (GMT)
It was shown in the Holodeck that Seven liked Chakotay. The Doctor attempted but Seven was not into the idea of assimilating a holoprogram into her life.

Harry should have been the one to eventually win her over, IMO

AdmiralGummy - December 18, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
I was hoping to end up with Seven.

But that was just wishful thinking on my part.

vgrbabe - December 18, 2007 05:03 PM (GMT)
I never liked the pairing...but then again I never realy liked anything that had to do with Chakotay

but I think it just came out of nowhere, these two characters barely ever had any scenes together. Seven has her holodeck thingy with him, then they're arent' seen together until that one where they're on that planet with those natives, then they're in love. There were no steps in between. It would have been better if they threw in a couple of scenes here and there with them talking, or having dinner together or something

Agreed, it was poorly written, as was most of Endgame, imo. They could have done so much more with that episode.

The poor Doctor. He loved her so much. :sad1:

Harry didn't deserve jack, Wolf. He was such a tool. LOL, I need to make a Bash Harry Kim thread.

Every series has a turd and Harry was the turd on Voyager.

Now, now ........... don't get started.

I actually liked Kes better than Harry. There was just something about him that really put me off. The guy was a loser at everything outside of his job.

vgrbabe - December 18, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
I never cared for either of them. All the stories revolving around them were weak, Chuckles too.

CourtneyDax - January 9, 2008 05:46 AM (GMT)
The Seven/Chakotay thing was very poorly written. Even though they had that episode with Seven and Chakotay with those natives, working real close together, it still was a blindside to see them kiss *shudders*

I always thought Seven would realise she loved the Doc too..

but theres no way they would let the Hot chick end up with the adverge Joe..

I would have really like to see Janeway end up with Chakotay. I know the doctor was in love with Seven but I couldn't see the two of them together

defiantboy81 - July 27, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
Did I miss the weeks and weeks of buildup? The tension between the 2 of them? Or did the writers just rip off the Ezri/Bashir thing from the end of DS9 and do it without being true to the characters?

You dont like the Hot chick with the average joe either huh!! :allteeth:

I always thought Chakotay wasnt good enough for Janeway.. but thats probably because Im not much of a Chakotay fan.

there was no buildup to the C/7 romance. In one episode Seven has a holodeck fantasy about Chuckles but after that there was no real interaction between them until an episode when they are stranded on that planet together. But they hardly speak to each other. Then suddenly they are dating and madly in love.

I think most people would rather see a build up of a relationship fist. See them become friends first. Or at least see them have a conversation about something before we see them dating. These were two characters that had nothing to do with each other, that hardly interacted with each other. It made no sense. And throw in Beltran's stiff performances and it was completely unbelievable

AdmiralGummy - July 28, 2008 06:18 PM (GMT)
Seven is mine.

I refuse to share her with anyone!

exactly...

like they did with Torres and Paris!

Im guessing it was a last minute decision

Or the writers got a block for new themes and just went with that one.

same thing!!

I can just see them sitting around..

"I got nothin" said writer A
"me neither" said writer B, throwing his pencil across the room, and picking up a powdered donut to stuff his face with.
"I know!" said writer 3 "lets frick everything up, and hook up two random characters!"
"but who should it be?" said writer A
"neelix and kim...?"

Seven with Doctor should have happened. Much more believable than Seven and Chakotay.

You can't say that it wouldn't have made Trek History.

Or Voyager would have been history too. :hi_bye:

I agree. Seven and Chakotay made no sense. The few episodes they shared were poorly written, actually every episode featuring Chakotay was poorly written and acted imo but that’s beside the point. I’m actually not sure that Seven should have been paired with anyone at all. She and Harry would have made more sense considering the fact that it was made obvious that Harry had feelings for her in the beginning but I don’t think they would have fit together and it seemed perfectly natural that the doctor would also develop feelings for her but it also seemed logical that she would not reciprocate those feelings. My conclusion, Seven should have remained single.

Even though I think Chakotay should go suck an egg and no one is good enough for Janeway it certainly would have completed the show better if they had gotten together in the Resolutions episode.

I agree about Seven not being with anyone at that point. I don't think she had enough of her humanity back yet to go through all that comes with a relationship

Seven was super-human. I could see her more with some awesome looking alien who was really strong, smart, etc. I really don't think there was anyone on the ship for her.
