It has been twenty years since the Federation started the Heritage Project. The Federation wanted to gain a foothold in the Delta Quadrant, this led to the creation of the Heritage Project, ships drawn from Juno Fleet to assist in the first act of colonization in the Delta Quadrant. They created the Heritage Colony on a planet codenamed Omicron III in the Delta Quadrant. They also created an obital defense created with stations and starships. One of those starships is USS Omaha Beach, which prime mission is to protect the colony from the new Borg threats and other alien enemies. This vessel is an experiment by the Federation, where the ship consists only of marines, since this is colony is in a high risk area the Federation decided that if all personnel were trained to fight and know marine tactics that the ship would have a better chance of surviving on this frontier.
