Title: If I had one complaint...

It would be that the Macos didn't get enough screen time or storyline during the time that they were on Enterprise.
I think they could have been used a lot more than they were.

I thought they were the ones that did most of the dying in season 3?

Almighty - September 3, 2007 08:14 AM (GMT)
THe one ep i really like in season 3 was the one where Reed and The MACO had the fist fight all over the ship , that was a pretty cool ep

i just thought the presence of them on the enterprise was stupid. it was a crap sub plot, but then again the less said about season 3 the better. the fights between them and the crew and the things they did were all very predictable.

The Macos being on Enterprise is the same as Marines on US Naval Vessels.
I don't have a problem with either one.

fair enough, but im sure on navy ships you don't get the silly bickering and the taking over and stuff... it just didn't seem to fit on star trek, even if it is actually done in life.

The Macos are supposed to be that era's version of the Marines.
After the Xindi kicked ENT's collective asses, Starfleet felt that they needed some extra muscle, so the assigned the Macos to commando duty. Which, if I recall correctly, pissed Malcolm off.

My main complaint, and I'll admit it's a big one, is that it didn't live up to its promise. The prequel idea had so much potential, but they almost instantly reverted to the same old trek with the same b&b tried and true formula episodes.

Well said, wissaboo.

:allteeth: thanks

There was a great deal of problems with the series. Did not have much of a problem with the crew per se other then I felt the female characters were a little weak. T’Pol molding herself to be so much like 7 of 9 and with that episode with Hoshi when she lost her top: was just thinking maybe we could get past the boobs in the twenty-second century. Me bad, we never got past them in the twenty-fourth century why should I think we changed.

IMO, the problem between Reed and Hayes was ALL Reed's fault.

Agreed.
Reed was jealous of Hayes' MACO's right from the second they stepped on board.
Reed kept putting a bug in Archer's ear about his Security Team being #1 with the MACO's back them up.

:jack: Big frackin' deal.

I liked the reed - hayes friction

They got over it , it was expected but at least there was some friction that lasted pretty much the whole season

In VOY the friction between the Marqui and SF officers lasted all of three episodes

:sarcastic:

I liked the friction too, although I think Reed went overboard quite a bit. He acted like a teenage girl looking for a cat fight.

As far as Voy, they had to get along to survive that trip. They didn't have much of a choice.

my biggest complaint was Archer and the gang running into species like the Ferengi and the Borg...

it doesn't matter to me that they didn't know the names of these species.. it matters that they weren't supposed to be introduced until TNG

but I learned to live with it.. like most trek fans do..
