Title: I'm a Voy Addict
Rajiin - July 16, 2007 06:26 PM (GMT)
So Spike reruns two Voyager eps a day. Was not a big fan back in the day but this really IS a good show. I remember being negative about DS9 at first and then I watched them again on reruns and fell in love. Same with Voy. I love this show. I TiVo them every day. I recently went without DirecTV almost a week and thought I'd shrivel up and die without my Voy eps.

I seem to remember that you're a Trekkie that likes the comfort factor of the shows
That's probably why you like VOY. You can still get you Trek fix from it
I've been renting DS9, to give it a second chance, but it's still not bowling me over yet. It may end up that way with VOY too

What season are on with DS9? The first season and a half was slow. Actually, the show got really rockin' once Sisko got his goat. :woohoo: He then took on more of his bad ass 'Hawk' image from 'Spencer For Hire'.

I'm up to season five on the rentals, but I also watched a Dominion War collection on Youtube, that pretty much lays out all the things to come, in an abridged manner. y'all might like it
http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=ChrReiIt's not a bad show or anything, but the selling point seemed to be about getting more involved with the characters than with TNG, & that just isn't happening for me, & therefore TNG still tops out as my favorite.
Honestly if it weren't for Sisko, & Worf, & on occasion O'Brien, I wouldn't like it much at all. The rest of the characters don't grab me :dunno:
Edit: Oh yeah, & Garak is ok too

What season was the Dominion War?

6 & 7 I think, but by now I've seen 5 years of this show, & even if the last two were really good, it's still not a glowing recommendation, on the whole, & like I said, I've seen much of the most important stuff in an abridged form already, so I doubt I'll be taken by surprise, & blown away :sad1:

I have Seasons 3,4 & 5 on DVD and I know I've seen pretty much all of 7 .......... I think I need to go put seasons 1,2 & 6 in my Blockbuster Total Access queue.

People I've questioned have said DS9 season 6 is the best one :o

I liked the later half of Voyager, pre Seven of Nine it had it's good moments, but Janeway kind of annoys me in many of the earlier Eps, she got too much of a tough captain chick thing going on, same reason I never liked Tasha Yar, around the time Seven came Janeway got better
yes many people *looks at Lynx* say that Seven was just a hollow catsuit, but she really did have a very interesting character and added much to the show story wise
AdmiralGummy - July 16, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
I have to agree. I watch it on Spike too. If I could change any one thing about it, I would dump Neelix, but you already know that. :p
fleshandblood - July 16, 2007 10:34 PM (GMT)
Woo! you've finally been converted! i knew you;d come around. its my fav. one of them.

Neelix didn't bother me as much as Harry. He's really a turd, imo. They try to warp shows around his character but it just plain sucks. I can't take him seriously when he's trying to be all tough and lady's man-like. Just be a turd, Harry, and lay in the Halograss. :thumbs1:

I have to agreee. Harry was a DrizzleAss and his character did suck. But I found Neelix to be much worse. Kinda like how I feel about Jar-Jar Binks in Star Wars. I really hated that character too. :thumbs1:

they really could have just lost him when Seven came along, after awhile she ended up doing his job anyway from that console behind the command chairs
fleshandblood - July 17, 2007 10:07 AM (GMT)
I think Harry annoyed me more too, but towards the end of season 4, when he finally harded up a bit more, i liked him more. especially in "timeline". anyhow Neelix when Kes finally went was more tolerable, when he wasn't a jealous and lovey dovey character.

I watched voyager today. Happened to get the episode where seven starts being de-borged and and kes de-materialized. I hadn't remembered the one being replaced with the other quite so obviously. I think seven was a very powerful character. And continued a theme that began with spock and continued through Data and the doctor. Definining what exactly makes a human an individual.
other than that:
harry was the definitive trekkie. Geeky, socially inept, and virginal. Perhaps it is that geekiness in all of us that makes us hate him.
Chakotay was hot.

Only one thing missing from Harry's Resume.
"Still lives in Parents' basement." :wtf:

I'm so sad. :cry1: I just looked and I just watched the remaining Spike episodes on DVD less than a month ago so everything I have scheduled to tape is worthless.
I wonder what happens after they aire Endgame. Do they start the series over or do they take it off the air?????
fleshandblood - September 21, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
hopefully they will look it or replace it with a different series and use the m in rotation, thats what they used to do on BBC 2 in the UK

I fucking hate harry kim! He doesn't even deserve capital letters.
AdmiralGummy - November 5, 2007 02:46 PM (GMT)
When there is no new Trek on TV, you take whatever you can get.
So, I watch Voyager on Spike TV. Soon, DirecTV will have Spike in Hi-Def.
That can't happen soon enough.
captainvictoria - December 10, 2007 09:53 PM (GMT)
I have a soft spot for voyager, it was the first star trek series I watched. the first episode I watched was course: oblivion and I watched endgame way before I watched caretaker. My addiction to Voyager got me addicted to the rest of the Trek universe.
trekkie4voyager - January 10, 2008 02:29 AM (GMT)
I love Voyager on Spike, they'll be starting over next week, there are many episodes I could watch over and over
Lynx - January 11, 2008 08:39 PM (GMT)
I love seasons 1,2 and 3 of Voyager. They are excellent!
However, I can live without seasons 4-7. Something important is missing there.
I love TNG too. Brilliant in all seven seasons. Started a bit slow but became better and better and better!
I haven't watched all of DS9 due to stupid policy from local station which abandoned the series after one season. I've haven't watched all episodes in seasons 2-7, only some episodes here and there on borrowed tapes. The series is OK but not as good as Voyager's seasons 1-3 and TNG.
TOS is great. Not as dated as expected from a series made so long ago. Great characters!
I didn't watch much of "Enterprise", only 4 episodes. Never really liked that series.
Josh_Lyman - July 20, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
I like Voyager a lot too. Seasons 4-7 were the best. Seasons 1-3 were not very good because of a certain female character who did not belong there.
vgrbabe - July 21, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
Seasons 4-7 definately were better. The stories were much more interesting and the cast I felt worked better together. Plus Seven of Nine brought an interesting new character
