I think one of the things that annoyed me the most about Enterprise was how dumb the writing got.
TOS and TNG realized they were writing to a literate audience, and often invoked Shakespeare and Milton and Melville, as well as drawing for inspiration such writers as Heinlein and Asimov. (For instance, the term "Positronic Brain" comes directly from Asimov's robot stories.)
Enterprise was nothing but Boob jokes and dog fart jokes. Braga was definitely MTV generation, and it showed.
